St. Cuthman
St Cuthman is the saint associated with Steyning. While he was travelling, his mother was taken ill. He continued to travel pushing his mother in a wheelbarrow. Eventually the wheelbarrow broke, in Steyning, where the Parish Church of St. Andrew and St. Cuthman has been built.
The banner at the top of the page reminds us of that.
