Dear Parent
I hope you all had a great Christmas and would like to welcome you to the spring term. As I am sure you are aware by now, our topic this term for Years 3 and 4 is Dragonology. Please see the curriculum outline (Click Here) to see how we link the subjects together.
As always if there is any expertise or exciting things relating to our topic out there it is always greatly welcomed and appreciated, so please let us know.
I would like to notify you of some dates for the diary: On Wednesday 22nd February your child will have a crocodile encounter! This links the Dragonology topic and science. Children will take part in a reptile class workshop. This proved a real success last time and was a very memorable experience for the children. A separate letter will be sent soon.
During the second half of term we will be having a book week starting Monday 5th March. The theme for this is Myths and Legends, lower KS2 will base it on St. George and the Dragon. ‘Open time’ for parents is at 3pm on Thursday 8th March, which gives you the opportunity to see your child in their classroom so they can tell and show you what they have been doing. School reports will be sent out on Friday 9th March and Parents’ Evenings will be on Monday 12thfrom 4.30pm to 7.00pm and on Wednesday 14th March from 4.00pm to 6.00pm.
Please could I take this opportunity to remind you to ensure that children have appropriate P.E kit (including appropriate footwear) in school at all times?
Also, please come and see me after school (at an arranged time) if there is anything you need to discuss. I look forward to a great term and would like to wish you all a happy new year.
Yours sincerely
Tracy Salmon
Lower KS2 Team Leader
